At the start…

Hi! I’m Lindsay. Welcome to The Ice Chef website.

I am a former youth counsellor and two years ago at time of writing i was on holiday in Thailand with my daughter, aged 2. I went to Thailand to take stock of life and the direction i wanted to take as becoming a mum had brought a lot of new learning.

Whilst in Phuket, I stood and watched a man at a stand making ice cream rolls.

He was also laughing and engaging with his customers as he created the ice creams in front of them.

But this one was not just handing out ice creams. He was providing them with time.  Only to often we can have our focus in technology and forget the true value of human connection.

The ice cream seller saw me watching him and called me over. He said, “You are the richest woman in Thailand with such a beautiful daughter”. He gave me an ice cream for free and said, “no money, just friends, be happy”.

Life is Sweet…

So, I returned to him every day, eating ice cream and playing on the machine, learning to create ice cream rolls, and, in the process, rediscovering my happiness.

His kindness changed my thinking.

I found clarity and reconnected. I knew the kindness and time I received via ice cream rolls was what I wanted to bring back to the UK.

So, I did…

Hence the slogan Life is Sweet…

We now travel the whole UK securing contracts and offering clients the highest standard of delivery. We are multi award winning and the growth over the past two years has been remarkable. I am human, it has not been easy by any stretch of the imagination but with passion, drive and dedication The Ice Chef has thrived.

None of this would have been possible without the support of my family. This support has allowed The Ice Chef to keep the values that were discovered during that first trip in Thailand and maintain that throughout our delivery.

Life really is sweet!

“My children are blown away by the process of this ice cream and they are making better fruity choices because they can see what goes into it.”
